Gemini Charged Me Twice: Refund Guide
Duplicate charges, pending authorisations, and how to actually get money back from Google One.
Updated August 13, 2026
Before requesting a refund, confirm you were actually charged twice. A large share of duplicate-charge reports are pending authorisations that disappear on their own.
Tell a real charge from an authorisation
Open pay.google.com and look at the transaction list. Google only lists settled charges. If your bank shows two lines but Google shows one, the second is a pending authorisation and will drop off within a few business days.
Common causes of a genuine double charge
- Two subscriptions on two different Google accounts. Check every account you sign into.
- A plan started on the web and a second started through the App Store or Play Store.
- An upgrade mid-cycle, which can appear as a separate charge alongside a prorated credit.
Requesting the refund
- Go to one.google.com and open Support from the left menu.
- Choose billing, then request a refund for the specific transaction.
- Include the transaction ID from Google Payments and state clearly that it is a duplicate.
Refunds are typically decided within a few business days and returned to the original payment method. Raising a chargeback with your bank first can suspend the Google account''s ability to buy anything, so use it only as a last resort.
